On March 1, ASR Microelectronics was invited to attend the 42nd GTI Workshop as a representative of the semiconductor industry, sharing the latest advancements in RedCap chips and their commercialization.


Held in Barcelona, Spain, the workshop brought together influential global telecom operators and industry partners to discuss key challenges in 5G development. As a leading semiconductor company, ASR Microelectronics delivered a keynote speech titled "Diversified Solutions – Accelerating RedCap Commercialization," presenting its latest progress in 5G technology and sharing industry perspectives and achievements in smart IoT, wearable devices, and in-vehicle communications.


ASR Microelectronics remains at the forefront of technological innovation in 5G, closely following industry standards and advancements. The company has strategically invested in 5G RedCap chip technology, leading deep research and development efforts and achieving commercial mass production. These efforts provide strong technical support for the large-scale deployment of lightweight 5G solutions worldwide.


In the smart wearable sector, ASR Microelectronics' independently developed ASR3901—its first 5G RedCap wearable platform—successfully passed China Mobile’s chip certification earlier this year. Fully compliant with the 3GPP 5G R17 standard, the ASR3901 chip delivers exceptional performance, ultra-low power consumption, and a highly flexible architecture, making it a driving force for next-generation smart wearable innovations. Currently, smart wearable devices powered by ASR3901 include 16 different models across 15 brands, covering applications such as smartwatches and sports and health monitoring.



At the GTI Workshop, ASR Microelectronics showcased multiple customer devices based on ASR3901. These devices offer a competitive price-to-performance ratio, lower power consumption, and support features such as high-definition video calls, AI voice assistants, BeiDou positioning, and SOS emergency rescue, demonstrating ASR3901’s broad market potential and leadership in the smart wearable sector.


In the smart IoT domain, ASR Microelectronics has launched a series of commercially available terminals based on its ASR 5G NR chip platform (ASR1901) and 5G RedCap chip platform (ASR1903). These solutions cater to a diverse range of applications, including CPE, MiFi, IPC, and industrial gateways, addressing the need for high-performance, low-latency, and wide-coverage 5G connectivity across industries such as industrial IoT, smart grids, mobile office solutions, in-vehicle communications, and smart cities.


In particular, RedCap technology is highly optimized for MiFi and CPE devices, ensuring low power consumption, stable connections, and cost efficiency. ASR Microelectronics' 5G chip solutions have been integrated into the supply chains of over 10 brands, further driving large-scale adoption and ecosystem growth in the smart IoT sector.
